Analog Devices Inc. ADIS16550 Six Degrees of Freedom Inertial Sensor

Analog Devices ADIS16550 Six Degrees of Freedom Inertial Sensor features a complete inertial system with a tri-axis gyroscope and accelerometer. Combining industry-leading MEMS-only technology with signal conditioning, each inertial sensor in the ADIS16550 has optimized dynamic performance.

The ADI ADIS16550 sensor is factory calibrated for sensitivity, bias, and alignment. The ADIS16550 provides a simple, cost-effective method for integrating accurate, multiaxis inertial sensing into industrial systems, especially compared to the complexity and investment of discrete designs. All necessary motion testing and calibration are part of the production process at the factory, significantly reducing system integration time. Tight orthogonal alignment simplifies inertial frame alignment in navigation systems. The serial peripheral interface (SPI) and register structure provide a simple data collection and configuration control interface.

The footprint and connector system of the ADIS16550 allows a simple upgrade from the ADIS16485, ADIS16488A, ADIS16490, ADIS16495, and ADIS16497. The ADIS16550 is housed in an aluminum package that is approximately 47mm × 44mm × 15mm and contains a standard connector interface.
