Bourns TISP4SxxxBJ Single Bidirectional Thyristor Surge Protectors are designed to limit overvoltages on telephone lines. The TISP4SxxxBJ series protector consists of a symmetrical voltage-triggered bidirectional thyristor in a space-saving surface mount SMB (DO-214AA) package. A single device provides 2-point protection against overvoltages caused by A.C. power system or lightning flash disturbances which are induced or conducted onto the telephone line. Typically, a single device is used to protect 2-wire telecommunication equipment (e.g., between the ring and tip wires for telephones and modems); however, combinations of devices can be used for multi-point protection (e.g. 3-point protection between ring, tip, and ground). These devices meet RoHS and Pb Free solder reflow profile requirements.
