Texas Instruments DRV3256-Q1 Automotive Gate Driver Unit (GDU)
Texas Instruments DRV3256-Q1 Automotive Gate Driver Unit (GDU) is a highly-integrated three-phase gate driver for 48V automotive motor drive applications. These are designed to support high-power motor drive applications by providing a 2A peak source and 2.5A peak sink gate drive currents and 90V MOSFET transient overvoltage support. A highly efficient bootstrap architecture minimizes power losses and the gate drivers' self-heating. A charge pump allows the gate drivers to support 100% PWM duty cycle control.
A wide range of monitoring, diagnostics, and protection features in the Texas Instruments DRV3256-Q1 support a robust motor drive system design. The highly configurable Active Short Circuit (ASC) function enables selected external MOSFETs to be integrated to respond quickly to system faults. The feature eliminates the need for external components. Three or a single low-side current shunt amplifier is optionally provided to support resistor-based low-side current sensing.
